Hiccups also known as “singultus” are sudden involuntary contractions of a muscle called “diaphragm”, that separates the chest from the belly. When this happens, you swallow air and your larynx (i.e. voice box) closes, leading to the “hic” sound. In most cases, hiccups are benign and usually transient. Most resolve within days.
Dr. Oyewole is a Phenomenal Doctor
Dr. Oyewole is a phenomenal doctor. He is incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable with finely tuned instincts that have never ceased to amaze me. His bedside manner is impeccable; he is caring, kind, compassionate, and an incredible listener. He is completely thorough, not only when gathering information but also in keeping his patients informed about their healthcare. I had the opportunity to have him as my doctor when I was hospitalized in late 2019. I was in writhing pain, feeling alone and scared. When he walked into my room, he took command; ordered the tests that resulted in the proper diagnosis, initiated the appropriate pain management, and explained everything to me and my family in a way they could all understand. His intelligence makes him a great doctor. His bedside manner makes him a phenomenal doctor, but once you add in his approachability…he’s incomparable
